Privacy & data
Reading Foundation is open to everyone, with no account and no tracking cookies. Playing a demo needs a Google sign-in. This page lists everything the site stores, and why.
Anonymous page views
When any page loads we record:
- the page path (on the player, which demo),
- the referring website's domain, if any,
- a two-letter country code from Vercel's network,
- device type (desktop, mobile or tablet),
- whether the visitor was signed in, and the time.
No IP address, cookie, fingerprint or other identifier is stored, so visits can't be linked to a person or to each other. Page views are deleted after 12 months.
When you sign in with Google
Sign-in uses Google's openid email profile scopes. We store:
- your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture link,
- when you first signed in, when you were last active, and how many times you have signed in.
We never see your Google password and get no access to Gmail, Contacts, Drive or anything else in your Google account.
Which demos you play
Each time you open a demo we record your account, the demo and the time. Nothing about what you do inside the game is stored.
One sign-in cookie
fdn_session keeps you signed in for 30 days (signed, HTTP-only). fdn_oauth lives for 10 minutes while a sign-in is in progress. There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
Why, and who sees it
The data runs sign-in, shows which demos people play, and guides the research. Only the site owner, Karan Chandra Dey [K28], can see it. It is never sold, used for ads, or shared, apart from the services that run the site: Vercel (hosting), Neon (the Postgres database) and Google (sign-in).
Your choices
Sign out at any time from the account menu. You can delete your account and play history yourself, straight away. Signing in again later starts a fresh account. For anything else, get in touch through k28art.space.
